The 2nd and 4th Sunday of every month First United Methodist (2nd E & 2nd
S) has a Weslyan Series, which features local organists playing 3 organ solos,
3 hymns and a short reading from one of John Wesley's Sermons. More information

10 Sep (Fri) 7:30 p.m. Salt Lake Tabernacle on Temple Square. Marsha Foxgrover,
orgaist. Free admission, 8 years of age and older. Winner of numerous awards
and a frequent performer on the West Coast and in the Great Lakes region, Marsha
Foxgrover has also appeared at major churches, colleges and universities, and
for AGO chapters and regional conventions. Currently, she is Organist in Residence
at Rockford College in Rockford, ILL, and is on the music faculty of Rock Valley
College. She serves on the National Commission for Church Music of the Covenant
Church.
Her program will include the "Timpanogos Suite" written for Ms. Foxgrover
by Crawford Gates.

24 Sep (Fri) Cathedral of the Madeleine. The Community Celebration of Faith.
This annual event brings together the choirs of St. Mark's Cathedral, Cathedral
of the Madeleine, First United Methodist and First Presbyterian Churches, and
a combined choir from the two LDS stakes in the Avenues. Each choir gets to
perform separately and then in a combined performance.

29 Jan (Sat) Temple Square, SLC "Celebrating the 200th Birthday
of Aristide Cavaillé-Coll" --Kurt Lueders and Jesse Eschbach
will fill our day with information and music related to Aristide Cavaillé-Coll.
These world-leading experts will share their skills with us. In the afternoon,
Kurt will give a lecture/presentation on Cavaillé-Coll, his life
and his works. In the evening, Jesse will perform music composed because
of the development of the symphonic organ on the Tabernacle organ. |

Fork) "Pedal, Pipes and Pizza" --An exciting outing for
your youth, 11-17 years old, will begin at Bigelow's in American Fork.
This is a unique opportunity to see a pipe organ nearing completion that
will be housed at The Cathedral of St. Markl in SLC. |
